Restorative Justice is a process focused on the repair of harm in the wake of crime and conflict. This ground-breaking philosophy can be found in criminal justice systems and schools across New Zealand and around the world – but what does it really mean for something to be “restorative?” In this talk, we’ll explore the basic history and the philosophy of restorative practices. You’ll learn how restorative practices are applied in the formal contexts of justice systems, as well as on campus at Victoria University of Wellington.
